Hello everyone,

I'm a first time mom (and new member) with a 7 month old baby boy who seems to not like the idea of regular napping,

I swear it's almost as if he feels he'll be missing something b/c he will just fight the urge to sleep until his eyes are as red as the banner!

He will be absolutely exhausted by dinner but when I try to put him down mid day he will cry his little lungs out until I come back in to console him and then fall asleep in my arms almost instantly.

Has anyone had a similar issue who may have suggestions on how to encourage napping without feeling like a terrible mom for letting him cry?

Yes my daughter was a terrible napper. Crying it out is not recommended, and if he needs to fall asleep in your arms, is that a huge problem? Taking a few minutes to rock him to sleep so he can take a nap sounds pretty normal.

If he is having 2 or more naps a day, you may need to reduce them.
