I want to start off by saying, I am a new mother who does not have much knowledge when it comes to young children, not do I have the proper support channel to reach out and ask these types of questions to. Here is my "dilemma":
My baby girl has Just turned 7 weeks old this past Friday, and for the last few days, she has been acting a little off.
Yesterday, she fell asleep after a 3 p.m. feeding of 3 oz. of formula and slept until 9:30 p.m.( I tried waking her at the 3 hour and 4 hour period, but she wasn't having it. ) Then when she awoke at 9:30 p.m. she has 3 oz. of breast milk, and slept from 10:00 p.m. until 02:15a.m. this morning.
I understand it may be normal for her to sleep so much, but now when she wakes to eat ( whether it is breast milk or formula ), she will drink an ounce and fall right back to sleep, and wake up periodically throughout an hour and snack maybe an ounce and a half in.
She just started this two hour routine, but my main concern is her falling asleep during the feeding. Does anyone have any friendly advice or words of wisdom? I thank you in advance.
