My 7 week old hasnt been sleeping at all. not on me , not in crib, swing , not in car sear nor anywhere , he's very tired but doesnt sleep. He sleeps for 30 min or so and wakes himself up. He also has acid reflux. Please help, this is depressing me a lot and am failing him , the doctors say its normal. Am in tears all through the day and night.

My son did sleep for 1-3 hour stretches at night, but he was a daytime catnapper (sometimes would sleep 45 minutes, but a normal nap was 20 minutes long) until he was over a year old. You aren't failing him, but it does sound like you need some rest. Can you nap when he does? Can someone come over and watch him for a couple of hours, so that you can get a good nap. Do you have a spouse that can handle some of the night time issues, so that you can get a chunk of sleep?

Hang in there! It doesn't last forever like this. ♥

I also agree about treating the reflux if that's not already happening. My son also had that (thankfully outgrew at 6 months) and meds helped him sometimes... as well as small, frequent feeds, and keeping him upright for 20+ minutes after a feed (so he slept upright on me quite a bit). Basically... life was a tumultuous hit and miss for the first 6 months, but he's 7 years old now... and I PROMISE you that it doesn't last forever.

Sounds like Mom isn't getting much sleep either. If the Drs say it is normal, you should probably take them at face value for that.
Do you have anyone who can cuddle baby and keep him quiet while you get a nap? It will probably help with your own crying/depression.

actually, 30 minutes at a time, at 7 weeks...not bad. What are you doing for the reflux? Once that is being treated, his sleep will start to normalize, but don't look for long stretches (anything over 2-3 hours) until he's a lot older.
