My family thinks I'm not feeding my 8 month old enough. And of course my family thinks a baby should eat rice, fedelo and beans juice at 3 months. I give her a bottle in the day, at night, and in the middle of the night. She eats food around lunch time and snacks during the day. Am I feeding her enough?

Bean juice is not fruit juice just fyi. When you are making your own beans from scratch, you use a lot of water to cook them. That is what Yesenia means by bean juice. It is like a broth, or a soup instead of "juice" like apple juice or orange juice. It is actually pretty healthy, but can cause gas (just like the beans) if they are not degassed first.

I breastfed as well. I would ditch the juice in favor of water or formula. If your child is thriving, meeting milestones and gaining weight, then I would not worry.

How many bottles is she getting in 24 hours? If I remember correctly it 'should' be no less than 4 and 5-6 is better. None of my kids ever had bottles, but my first two were breastfed every 4 hours during the day and once or twice a night at that age (so 5-6 times in 24 hours)... my son nursed a TON more.

I don't know about those types of foods that you mention... other than rice, but eating solids 1-3 times a day (depending on the child) is about right for that age.

Bean juice (I make my own pinto beans) can make the baby very gassy. Plain white rice might be ok but is very small. You might want to mash it. Fedelo, depending on how you make it can be very slippery. At 8 months old, food is for practice. You still want to introduce solids slowly. Like one new thing every 3-7 days and watch for allergies.

It sounds like you could probably feed another snack around dinner, but that is up to you. Baby should still be getting the majority of nutrition should be coming from breast milk or formula.
