My son is now just over 8 months old and woke up this morning with a runny nose. I am currently sick and on antibiotics. I thought we had made it without him catching it but I fear he may be getting sick also. He was solely breast feed until 3 months and then breast and formula until 6 months. The only reason used formula was I had a lot of problems making enough breast milk. Now he is on 2nd baby foods and formula. I have some breast milk still frozen that has been in a deep freezer that is not opened often. I wanted to know if there would be any benefit to give him that breast milk in the mean time. I am looking for anything. I know it does not have the antibodies that I am carrying now, I was just trying to think of anything to make him better. I feel so guilty as it was me who got him sick in the first place. He doesn't have a fever, just sniffles and a dry cough. Thanks for the help!!

For starters, don't feel guilty, he's going to get sick sometime. Also I don't think the breastmilk is going to do much for him.

Just make sure you keep his fluids up and keep him warm. If it's just a runny nose at this stage then there's not much you can do. Just keep an eye on his temperature though.
