8 months son weight loss

I think the teething is possible, but I'm certainly no expert. Has he been nursing less recently? I don't think anything in your diet would be causing him to lose weight w/out any other signs of digestive troubles.
Has he lost much weight? I think if I were in your position I would be making sure I was well hydrated and eating enough (oatmeal can sometimes help w/ milk production) and nurse as much as possible for the time being. Is he supposed to have another weight check soon?

Most babies who are breastfed on demand will still be gaining weight w/out eating anything else. Was he recently sick and eating less? If you are nursing him on demand and he is losing weight I would be inclined to believe that either there is a problem w/ your milk supply or a medical issue w/ your child as breast milk is still all a child NEEDS at 8 months.
I hope you can get some answers w/ the doctor. Good luck!!

Well, if you were breastfeeding, you still need to be. Solids before one aren't necessary, although after 6 months can be offered to get the child accustomed to new flavors/textures.
At this point, most nutrients are still provided by your milk (or formula, but he's not taking that)
Ask your pediatrician for other options
