8 Year old daughter has had headaches everyday for over a month

My 8 year old daughter had been having intermittent headaches starting in February. By the beginning of March they became an everyday occurrence. She's now having multiple headaches a day with no real pattern or trigger that I can see. She says that they only last for a couple seconds at a time and they are always in her forehead area. I've taken her to pediatrician a couple times already for them and they said they thought it was allergies or sinuses. We started her on Children's Claritin over two weeks ago and that hasn't helped. Yesterday they gave us the name of a pediatric neurologist to send her too, but last night her headaches started happening every time she walked, coughed, laughed or moved her head. She's been having over 7 a day of these. I'm trying really hard not to panic, but I keep worrying about a brain tumor. Should I push for an MRI just to be safe? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! (update: just spoke with the pediatrician's office and they won't order an MRI until she's seen the neurologist and they see what he says)

Kids this age typically don't get headaches so you are correct to keep pushing until you find an answer. To ease your mind a tiny bit, kids with brain tumors usually manifest other symptoms; gait disturbance, sleep disruption, speech issues or seizures. Get into the neurologist and take a copy of her chart from her pediatrician with you. Good Luck!
