My 8 year old daughter has ADD and is on medication for it but it keeps her from sleeping through the night. The medication helps her in school and keeps her focused throughout the day so I can't take her off of it. I have tried a lot of different methods (melatonin, limit sugar intake, plenty of exercise) and nothing is helping. She is in bed at 8:00 but it takes her an hour to fall asleep and usually she is up anywhere between 2AM-5AM wide awake. This really makes it hard for her to then get up at 6:30AM for school. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can help her stay asleep without taking her off her medication? I have had no help from the doctor. Switching meds was no help either.
