My 9 month old is refusing bottles and formula. He is eating food and drinking water out of a cup with a straw. But he will not take a bottle or even formula out of a cup. The doctors office told me to stop giving him food and make him have formula. I wanted some advice from other mothers about what to do. I just don't feel that taking his food away is the right thing to do.

Thank you for your advice Danielle. He is a 25lb baby and on table food. He bypassed baby food completely. He has been using a sippy cup since he was 6 months old. He was only having an actual bottle in morning and at night. Now he doesn't want the bottle or formula at all. His specialist is going to test his iron periodically and as long as it is fine. They said to just keep giving him food and offer the formula as well.

If he's still eating, sleeping and pooping he's ready for food. However just realize when you make his bottles, use the formula as a liquid filler. It has all the things he needs at his age. Like a fruit cereal bottle with two scoops formula and some fruity baby food. Make it taste good. It sounds like you spoiled him with baby food and now all he wants in other favors. Everything you make for him add the formula. It helps him start growing healthy even if he's eaten things "suggested" for after a year old.
