Hi all,
Our nine year old son was diagnosed two years ago with adhd. He's been through quite a few meds that didn't have a positive effect and also he has seen a behavior therapist which only seemed to waste time and money. He's currently on concerta and has been for over a year now. Our biggest battle is at home. His grades and behavior in school are great! He did get caught telling a lie in school once last year but was overlooked due to the situation the school said. As grateful
As I am about him doing great in school ... At home sometimes is sad and unexceptable. He lies almost everyday to keep from getting in trouble, then even caught will still deny it. He recently starting hitting his sister on occasion if she "tells him what to do". The argumentative mouth is through the roof!!! I understand that most of the time things just don't click but the extreme crying, hitting and lying of course have me concerned. I just was wondering if anyone else had any angel in school and handful by night? I've tried raking him off meds before and didnt go so well but am thinking of trying again since apparently they are not helping and we even just had a increase on his dose. I do notice before/after his meds effect him that he talks/behaves very baby like and noticed his tongue hang out at times. I asked his doc and he said..that its just how some boys are. Nothing is wrong. The immaturity extremely concerns me along with the other issues. Anyone else ready to scream in hope of some real insight??? Aaahhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!
