All these remedies have helped me so much! My daughter has a cold and I've been feeling so bad...but I'm going to use all these tips and hopefully she will feel better.

Johnson and Johnson has this wonderful product called vapor-bath. You can pick it up at any walmart for a few bucks. I think it's a green bottle and usually right next to the head-to-toe baby wash. It's got the eucaliptis vapors you would find in vicks but at non-infant hurting lvls. Give that a try right before bed.
Another thing is you have an infant car seat, use it. lol If the baby is sleeping in a reclining position, the junk will drain easier. I lost track of how many times my son slept in his car seat when he was sick.

My 12 week old has the same thing at the moment! I woke up in the middle of the night to hear her trying to snort through all the "snot" I took her into the bathroom and turned the shower on hot and just sat her in the bouncer for a while ( I was in there of course) Next day I got the good old vapouriser out. Best thing you could ever buy when you have children. It helps them breath so much better. I am also using the drops and sucker. It horrible but so much easier for them to breath. Now I just have to watch she doesn't fully reject my breasts! ( she seems to want to drink from a bottle rather than breastfeed while she has this cold- must be easier) Keep your chin up and I hope your little one gets better soon.

Just stick it out a little longer. Your doing what you need to do, and a steamy bathroom will help to loosen up the congestion so you can use the nasal aspirator. Have someone help you hold him down and remember to breath. It may seem like torture to you, bu he will breath much better, which in turn will help you breath better. Keep up the good work!

This will sound odd, but I promise it will work. Use a small medicine dropper and put breast milk in thier nose. what ends up at the back of their throat they swallow, baby will sneeze and then be able to nurse as usual. Just a coulple of drops will do.

This may not be for everyone, but I always found the best thing for congestion when my son was that little was to let him sleep on my chest while I sat elevated. Prevented all the post-nasal drip and let him get some good rest. A cool mist humidifier and standing in a steamy bathroom helped a little bit, too.

sit in a really steamy bathroom with him. The steam helps them breathe a little better. and if you stick him in a bouncer or something like that you can get a shower in at the same time. also you might look into a cool mist humdifier for his room that really helps my daughter when she is congested
