My son is almost 5 months old and he is not holding his bottle, putting weight on his legs, trying to roll over, head still a little unsteady at times, sometimes he has a hard time getting his hands and other objects to his mouth. Should I be worried or could he maybe just be progressing a little slower? I know all babies are unique and progress differently but I just feel like something isn't right. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Moms

You said you "feel like something isn't right" mothers intuition cant be ignored. Babies do progress on their own timeline so it's likely your baby is just fine, but listen to your gut and ask his pediatrician at his next check up. It could be something small and easily corrected and you'll be glad you mentioned it sooner than later :)

He sounds like a completely normal baby. Usually babies don't get full head support until after five months....so expect good control to start any day. As far as bearing weight on his legs, he is just not ready. My son never held the bottle (he was bfed and bottle fed) he never wanted to. No interest. Never rolled over. Never crawled. He just stood up on his own at 14 1/2 months and started walking. It is just his personality. Don't look at the milestones as an accurate time frame that they SHOULD be doing things. It is strictly a guidline that quite honestly most babies don't meet.

My son really started to hold his head well where I did not have to support him at about 6 months. Just do some tummy time with him daily (which my son HATED) and that will help strengthen his muscles. If he doesn't like tummy time, you can lay on your back and have your baby lay on you and have him practice that way. It was the only way my son would do it.
