Hi my name Kim I'm a 43 year old single mom to a 14 year old daughter that is respectful low maintence girl who I would feel better not staying alone for over night or weekend getaways. Would prefer to drop her off at your home and pick her up... I'm looking more for flat rates rather then hourly...I'm looking for college or older babysitter...

Kim, if you had done your research properly, you would find that this forum, in addition to having many genuine mothers, also has many trolls, paedophiles and just plain creep factors. I question anyone who would advertise on a PUBLIC site for a babysitter for their child, but in particular a teenage daughter AND at their home. This site may be great for mum to mum advice, but seriously, go to a reputed agency to find a babysitter.

Would you advertise for a babysitter on a public Facebook site? No? Well, don't do it here. Your choice will be no safer.

I apologise if I came across as snarky, but I was actually quite incredulous that someone was thinking it was a good idea to seek strangers on the internet to babysit their child. It would never have occurred to me in a million years to even consider it - not after some of the creeps I've seen around here in the last 6 years.

You have been told the same thing by 2 people here that have been on this site for many years. We have seen many creepy people and there would be NO WAY I would be asking on the internet for a babysitter.
We have had some very creepy men posing as woman, that's the exact type of person who would be responding to you.
I am a moderator here and I would strongly advise you to find a local babysitting service or ask for recommendations from friends and family.

Actually, I think I AM being helpful by advising you that posting for a babysitter on a public forum is not actually safe for your child. No need to try to personally attack me because I think it's not a good idea for you to do that for the safety of your child. I wasn't "tearing you apart". I was pointing out that it is not something that is considered safe to do. You don't have to accept that advice if you choose not to.

This is an international Mother's forum, not a place to find babysitters. I would suggest finding a babysitting service in your area or asking around your friends to see if they know anyone suitable.

ETA: You didn't even put what country, let alone the area you are in. It's very unlikely that you will find someone local to you here.

And you think advertising for someone to leave your 14 year old daughter with on a public forum is a good idea?
