A little Christmas poem I wrote this morning to hopefully make everyone smile :)

Twas the day before Christmas and all through the house
There's enough food to feed a hundred including the mouse
The stockings are missing, where on earth did they go
There's nothing left in your local Co
The children are excited, it's all gotten too much
And Mum's and Dad's use alcohol as a crutch
Mum is all stressed, Dad has a beer
She says where is the ribbon, I know it was here
He says "Don't stress about it it will all get done"
Then slouches on the couch and reads the Sun.

We cook and we clean and things are done
So organised we are and it's time to have fun
So the stockings are hung by the fire so bright
You made it through without a fight
Children are snuggled up in their beds
With visions of Toy story toys dancing in their heads
Certain friends (you know who you are)
Can't sleep either, they are too excited by far
Finally we drop of for that hour or two
And the children scream it's Christmas and it's ok with you

We are almost done and I want to say
Remember it's Christmas love your family this day
We might be stressed and be annoyed
But remember this day is all about Joy
We are celebrating (well some of us are)
The birth of a baby in a land so far
Wise men travelled a thousand miles
To meet this great and wonderous child
Who brought the world hope and light
So be good to each other, please don't fight
