A question about Tylenol for infants

My son is nearing his first birthday and he probably weighs 21lbs at this point. We usually don't give him Tylenol (it's probably been 3 month since the last time he had any), but he has four teeth at various stages of cutting through and it has made him completely miserable. While he's awake we've been using teething rings or a damp was cloth in the freezer, but before his big daytime nap yesterday and the day before and before bedtime the past 3 nights we have been giving 1ml Tylenol. I was talking to my mom tonight and she was very much of the opinion that a) that much Tylenol use would be bad for him and b) that was giving it too often and it was probably less effective now.

He does seem to be getting a bit better better on the pain front (hence why he didn't have Tylenol before his nap this morning) but even with Tylenol before bedtime he has been waking a couple times in the night, which he hasn't done for months and he seems to be in a lot of discomfort when he does. Anyway, I was going to give tomorrow a wait and see approach but I'm hoping we don't have to use it again. I'm just hoping to quell the guilt that's starting to build here now that I can't get it out of my head that maybe I was too overzealous with dosing him and that I could have done some harm or that I've given enough to make it less effective.

I personally didn't give Tylenol for teething, but as long as you are giving him the right dose for his weight... 1-3 times in 24 hours is certainly not overdosing him.

If you have followed dosing directions, and used the appropriate product for his age, you are doing just fine!
