One night while I was getting my two children ready for bed, my 8 year old son tells me that his Speech therapist is really mean. I asked him in which way? He said that she yells at him when he doesn't get the word correct and that he gets interrupted constantly .
The speech therapist told my son that he would loose his recess if he doesn't pronounce the word correctly.
He also said that she yells at all the kids in the group.
My son said that he feels like crying , but he doesn't . " I hold it in mom" he said , I don't want to go to speech anymore. " that's the bad part of my day" he said .
I spoke to another mom that has her son with the same speech therapist .
I asked her, how is your son doing with his speed therapist? She said that her son said that the speech therapist is mean and yells alot . He doesn't want to see her any more.
She also said , one day the speech therapist asked her son to keep his hands on top of the table and he had to iched his nose so he did and she yelled at him very loud.
Also there is another kid that attends the same group and said that she really mean .??
My son has a IEP and was clinical tested with ADD . He has a little trouble focusing.
He has also developed a anxiety and depression alarming. This was evaluated in 1st grade by the school. He developed this because he was not understanding well the dual immersion class he had. So 3 month before the school end I got him a tutor in English all through the end of second grade and he was very happy learning and excelling at a fast pasted that the teacher,RSP and speech therapist was inpressed.
Since then he has been great and very happy. He plays sports . Very happy kid!

My concern is his state of mind.
My children are new at this school and they are very happy there.
I know my son and I always teaching him good manners and to be respectful to others.
I'm very structure at home . He has never got in trouble at school for bad behavior .
The reason why I writing this information about my son, so you can see where I'm coming from.
The only problem is his speech therapist .
I already spoked with his teacher and he was going to talk with his RSP teacher?
His teacher is supposed to get back at me tomorrow .

I asked for a Student Success Meeting this last Friday. I'm waiting for a call back.
How should I handle this ??

Change therapists and report him. You may also want to let us know HOW he is mentally abusing him though!
