my LO is almost 4 months old. we had very minor thrush(compared to pics I've seen) for 2 months now. we've tried.eveylrything. nystatin, 2rounds of gentian violet, the "special" nipple ointment, grapefruit seed extract, probiotics (for both of us, and I even went on a very strict 7 week diet of brown rice, chicken, and veggies to starve the yeast of sugar. Yesterday, I noticed thrush has traveled to her bum now. I'm so ready to just give up. Definitely on my very last nerve. Anyone know something I haven't tried?? :-( I'm desperate. talk about feeling like a failure.

we're in Canada too. pain was coming and going, but since thrush has moved to her bum she's been pulling off more during feeds, leaving me blistered and very tender. I broke down and ordered nipple shields today.... something HAS to work.

Is nursing painful for you? Does your baby seem uncomfortable?

One of our kids had thrush and needed a prescription. We live in Canada where Nystatin is available over the counter, so whatever we were treated with was a more powerful anti-fungal. I'm sorry I can't remember the name, but there are definitely other medications to try before you give up.
