I will be going to court next week because my husband has filed for joint custody of our 19 month old baby girl. I have submitted my request for Sole custody. He does pay child support. However, I am afraid of leaving her with him alone because we cant communicate well and he has very bad anger issues. Throughout our marriage and my pregnancy he has mentally/physically abused me. In the past I have filed for a restraining order because he came to my job, very intoxicated and wanting to commit suicide. Months later when we reconciled he head butted me in front of our then 11 month old baby girl and she watched the whole thing. The neighbors heard me screaming and called police. They took pictures and he was in jail for that night. What are my chances of getting Sole Custody of my baby? and he has been arrested 3 times, Two being for unpaid traffic fines and the domestic assault. I plan to talk about It all with the judge. Please ladies advice? My baby girl is my World.

If you got the proof of all this, then the judge is going to look very closely at this. But I still can not tell you if it will be sole or joint. You need to stress that its a danger to your child to be in his presence because frankly, what if he turned on your child? Do all that you can in proving he does not need joint custody, set up supervised visits if possible, and continued child support.
