Abusive neighbor

Over the last five years I've delt with an abusive neighbor, she's a single mum of an 8 year old girl, and drinks and parties almost every day, the countless sleepless nights due to thump thump music and yelling and screaming are taking a toll on my health. I feel like a prisoner in my own home. If I end up calling police, which I have done many times, she either comes around thumping on my door and then screaming obsenities at me, or just yells over the fence.if I hang the clothes on the line at night and don't immediately turn my outside light off, she is around abusing me. We have recently put up a privacy fence, which after her seeing it, yelled for a half hour, swearing, and just calling me names. I have a three year old and 12 year old, both boys, and my eldest does not even wish to venture out the back. My husband works away most of the time and this is usually when the bullying is at its worst, though she does not back down to him either. We attempted in the very beginning talking with her and she just told us we were stupid, and to leave her alone. I've contacted the real estate and they issued her with a breech in her lease, if she abuses us, or has a noise complaint against her in the following 12 days, she can be evicted. Though she usually waits for the 13th day and then the thumping music starts all over again. I'm at a loss as what to do, and am actually getting quite scared.

Good luck! I don't blame you... just the thought of confrontation 'freaks' me out.

Thankyou, I will do. I'm not a very confrontational person and I don't actually like being outside when I know she is home, my heart rate goes up, most likely along side my blood pressure, but I'm aware it's the only way. It's just so hard. I know I just have to take a deep breath, or lots of them, and venture outside. We are on the eve of the weekend so I am going to try my hardest not to let her win, and try and play with my three year old out there tomorrow. Wish me luck. Ill keep you updated, if for nothing else but my own sanity.

Video her abuse and call the police again. Since you know she'll start up again after she gets a visit from the police.... keep the video camera handy and call them back. Video EVERY interaction with her (just make sure you do all videoing from your own property), all the noise, etc....... and keep documenting times and everything.... and keep calling.
