Crying hysterically sometimes, always fussy after feeding, I sweat when it comes time to feed him because he cries, sucks, pulls back, his checks are really rosen sometimes he has a lot of gas I'm at my wits end I just don't know what to do anymore he is five months and has not gained weight in the last month. Any suggestions?

Try to put your baby on Babies magic tea. My baby had colic and reflux and this tea helped us a lot.

Well it does sound like you are dealing with it in all the ways I know how. Since the extra crying seems to be new, it really could just be teething. Although most babies don't constantly cry over teething. Although if it really does hurt then it could affect his eating. Also might explain him crying after eating. I'm sure he's hungry and wants to eat but is in pain so it makes it hard.

Have you tried feeding him from a spoon yet? Some babies are able to do it at 5 months. If it's his teeth, it might help since he doesn't need to use the front of his mouth for a spoon feeding. All you would need to do is smash a banana add some formula to it and try.

Okay for teething, see if any stores sell clove oil. If they don't it's okay you can make some. Get clove leaves, put then in a closed jar with an oil (olive oil works fine but what ever you have works) Leave it on the stove (or another warm place) for a day. Then you just rub it on his gums. I will warn you cloves will leave crusty looking stuff on the corners of his mouth. Believe me though, it works better than anything you can buy, and without all the chemicals.

I really do hope he starts feeling better for you soon.

Thanks for the replies let me further my story. I breast fed with the mix of good start when he was born. He went into the hospital at one one with a uti. After that he was left on reg good start. He was very gassy started just being very gassy I went to the doc a few times and he prescribed holding him upwards for a long while after he ate. Also perscribed Zantac because he fought me on every bottle. I refused to give him the Zantac and thought to switch formulas so I started him on similac sensitive which has less lactose it was a thinner formula. It seemed to be working the he just stopped eating, his feeding were already bad and now he would during one ounce and scream so I started giving him the Zantac. He is propped up with a wedge in his crib we keep him up thirty to forty five mins after a feeding, he won't let me burp him at all during the bottle or he won't take it again. So I have let him go as long as I can. He was gaining weight up until this month from the four month to the give month stretch he only gained two ounces. We upped the Zantac now and started him on enfamil gentle ease he wouldn't even take it and the tried aluntrium he drank more of it but was still really burby he would still burp three hours after he set. So we went back on the goodstart and he is still very fussy. He has also started whinning this last month wondering if it's teething or gas or acid reflux. Such a mess I feel like the end of the world. I have two other children three and five and I feel like everyone is suffering. Movie night has turned into consoling the baby night. They tell everyone that all he does is cry. It's so bad. I don't know what to do I have been to the doc ten times I have been to a pediatric walk in also she said to feed him every two hours. His intake is so much less. He is on rice cereal has been on it for almost give days and he seems a lot fussier after it. I'm lost............

Since he does have a lot of gas try a few things.

Do not shake the formula to mix it, stir it with a spoon. this will help not create so many bubbles in the formula.

Feed him sitting upright. Then he needs to stay upright for an hour after eating.

Try burping every 2 oz or so.

Ask your doctor for gas drops if he is not burping well for you.

If it is acid reflux know that soon you'll be over the harder part of it. Around 6 months it seems to calm down. I don't know if it's because they start solids, or because they are sitting up more and sleeping less. I do say the "harder part" because it can still show up. You have to figure out which foods are causing problems once you start solids. The wrong one and you might be up all night.

I assume the doctor gave you Zantac, have they mentioned giving him rice cereal? Maybe bring it up to the doctor to see if they think it will help.

My daughter had horrible acid reflux so we bought her a wedge for her crib. It helped so much. This is the one we use. http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp...
She is now 15 months and still uses it and finds it comfortable.
