Stick with the Prevacid, it takes time, but is well worth it. I had to start my son on Prevacid when he was 2 mo. old and by six months he no longer needed medication. Make sure that she is as upright as possible for feeding and that she remains upright for a while after. If you are breastfeeding, be sure that you avoid foods that are spicy, greasy or gassy. If you are formula feeding, there are need specific formulas out there and there is likely one that would be helpful for this condition. Best of luck to you all. Cindy

Babies magic tea is the best formula with natural ingredients to soothe children with acid reflux

Ryans on Zantac w/ grape flavoring, and 0.1 ml of arythromyacin 2 x a day, used to b 4 x a day, mabey that would help your daughter. He hiccups, chokes and gags alot with out the meds and swallows lots of air. I also keep him propped up after feedings. I would stay away from acidic juices and fruits bc that makes it worse also smaller more frequent feedings might help. My other two grew out of it at about 7 or 8 mos so hang in there.

Apple juice is actually very acidic and is NOT recommended for a reflux diet. If she is on solids, be sure to follow a reflux diet for you and her. You can find details if you do a google search.

Hi, have u tried apple juice? very good for settling acid. Also alternative therapies such as reflexology or reiki have been found to benefit babies and adults with acid reflux!

try putting a blanket in the dryer for 5 mins (warm not hot) and wrap her up tight in it. I have also found with my boys rubbing there tummy and back help a little.

FYI- same thing happened w/ my daughter. Even as she got older I was getting up in the middle of the night to wash the puke out of her hair. She's 9 now and stil sleeps w/ her bed inclined! A year or so ago she asked why her bed was like that becuse she didn't remember. I explained and she wanted to try it flat again. She made it through the night then asked me to incline her bed again because acid was comming up in her throat all night. Her Dr. said to just keep doing what we're doing. BTW- she's also an asthmatic (triggered mostly by allergies) and they think that might be a contributing factor in her a.r. due to the post nasal drip irration. As she gets older, if it doesn't clear up, make sure you put her hair up in a ponytail or in a braid at night. Makes for MUCH easier clean up in the middle of the night! Good luck!

My son had gastro esophougal reflux and he would throw up and arch his back and cry all the time. i went to my doctor and he put us on his medicine called Axid. It worked miracles!! He went on it around one month old and was off it by seven or eight months. has she had this since birth? or just recently?

hope that helps!
