My daughter is 11 and was diagnosed at 3 with ADHD/OCD. We did medication until she was about 9. But we were loosing her personality and it became pretty much uppers and downers. We changed the food we buy and started a strict schedule for her. But now we are noticing she is living, stealing silly little things in the house, and the attitude is absolutely horrible. Should we start medication again and if so what is the best out there?
Thank you for any advice!😊

She didn't start medication tell she was 6. We knew she had ADHD early on because she shows the same signs as her dad did and he has it. We have done all sorts of testing done and continues to be tested every year. Ugh....thank you for the help with with the multi posts. I couldn't figure out how to delete them!

Diagnosed by whom at age 3? Right there is the first issue. I'd not start meds without a clear behavior expectation/consequences plan first. She is 11, and that can be a tough age; testing limits and finding independence. If her ADHD and OCD symptoms flare; then I'd go see good adolescent psychiatrist first; try behavior mod second, and meds last. Maybe she just need some activity in her life and school should be starting up?

Edited to add: Thank you for even noticing you posted multiple times! Many new posts are duplicated up to 10 times! I deleted the other posts, so all of your answers should come to this thread. If you are not getting responses, try just typing in "bump" in the response box, and it will jump your thread up a bit. Also, you may want to try posting in the ADD/ADHD community as well. Good Luck! sarah e (moderator)
