My son died by suicide on August 17, 2015. He was sick for 5 years before he ended his life. He was my only child. He was well educated and deeply loved by an extended family. Why? How could this happen to him? I ask these questions everyday. He is my first thought in the morning and my last thought a night.

You're so welcome, Regina. And I'm so glad you're leaning on your loved ones and finding the help you need. Also, like you said, you can't beat the power of prayer. But definitely keep us posted on how you're doing, OK?

Thank you gardensparrow. I have a close loving family and I believe in the power of prayer. I read about parents that have lost grown children I blogs that I find on the web. This helps.

Oh, my heart goes out to you. I'm so sorry for the loss of your son, and I can't imagine what you've been going through. But I hope you've had lots of love and support from friends and family members? If not, or if you just feel that you need a little extra help to get through this time, perhaps it might be time to consider some counseling or a grief support group? I also know there's material out there specifically on grieving a suicide of a loved one. In fact, here's an article at http://bit.ly/218kDqk that has some suggestions and referrals that might be encouraging. Just FYI. But please know someone is praying for you right now.
