I sell Avon, but its getting books out to neighbors, community events. Using business cards is what helps you get your name out there. Family is good for occasional orders, but when a customer has a brand they like weather its Mary Kay, Avon, Etsy, they stick with it. It's finding where those customers are. And someones always looking fora representative of some form or another.

Etsy store or making stuff to sell on ebay. Or doing nails from home (might have to do a course first). I agree with Jodi people get annoyed and half the time can't afford to buy stuff from Avon and Partylite and Tupperware you have to really put yourself out there in the community to make a good amount of money on that.

To be quite honest, if you are relying on the people you know to use whatever it is you are selling, it isn't much of a business and is unlikely to make you any money.
