Advice for how to get 2 yr old off the bottle?

My son is constantly drinking from his bottle, and mostly milk. He has sippy cups but he prefers not to use them. Even on car rides or in the stroller he has a fit if I give him a sippy instead. Also he uses it like a soother - the nipple is shaped like one and he never liked a soother but instead would suck on his bottle even after it was empty all day(so i guess sorta in the same way kids use soothers). I really don't know how i'm going to get him off it. Total mistake on my part for not addressing this sooner... >.

Oh.... and sucking on a sippy cup all day is just as bad as sucking on a bottle all day. If you don't want to remove the bottle.... stick to milk at just sit down meal and snack times and only allow water at other times.

Take it away completely.... or limit it to times that you're ok with (like just at nap and bedtime) and just let him throw his fit. He'll eventually take to the sippy... or you can use a straw cup or even a regular cup.

I'm not anti-bottles even at 2 years of age, but if he's sucking on it all day long... it is most likely doing damage to his teeth and I'd endure some fits to avoid that damage as soon as possible.
