Afraid my 9 month old will choke

For whatever reason, I have always been nervous about my baby choking. Of course, he has started to have solids, mostly baby food, but when we give him puffs, or anything with more solid texture, he gags and throws up. I'm guessing he's just not quite ready for them yet and to keep letting him explore on his terms, but I'm worried he's going to choke. I know to do the back blows if he does, but any other advice?

Take an infant and child CPR class!
Other than that just let him explore it on his own and keep a watchful eye. There is nothing wrong with being a bit worried - that is totally normal.
