If you ever had a miscarriage, how long after your miscarriage did it take you to get pregnant again?

I had an early miscarriage the beginning of October (was around 5 weeks or so along). We are now on our 7th cycle of trying. We have another son who is almost 2, got pregnant with him on the 3rd cycle. I know that it can take longer to get pregnant again after going through a pregnancy since hormones and other things change.

But anyway, I was just curious every else's experiences.

Thanks!

(posted below too, but thought i would copy it here too) Thanks ladies. I actually went to the doctor the beginning of May because I have been having a temp drop and/or spotting some months a few days before my period starts - I do fertility charting. She said if nothing happened that cycle (our 6th cycle of trying) that she wanted to do some testing on me just to be on the safe side. Unfortunately she was on vacation last week and this week and I am going on vacation so I don't think testing will happen this cycle, but I'm not too concerned about it, hopefully a nice relaxing vacation will help :-) We are trying the Sperm Meets Egg Plan this cycle, figured it can't hurt :-)

It really is unpredictable...we miscarried at 8 weeks in Sept, I had a D&C in early October, got pregnant again in February, miscarried in April with a D&C in April, then pregnant again in June with my healthy 2 year old born the following January. Then pregnant again the following June, miscarried in July & D&C in July, then pregnant again that September with my healthy almost 1 year old born in last June...so it's a long and unpredictable road that with determination ends happily. It will happen, just stay strong.

I miscarried acouple of times in the 3 years it took us to get pregnant with our little girl. They were about 6 months apart and then it tookme another year before I fell pregnant successfully. It was a little upsetting but I was so sure that I wasnt able to even get pregnant that I was actually just happy to know that it was possible and even happier when it stuck!

I had a miscarriage in June 2007. I got pregnant again in August of 2007. I wasn't planning to get pregnant so soon because I was having a hard time dealing with the miscarriage. My son was born prematurely (for reasons not related to prior miscarriage)in January 2008 and is now a happy, healthy 16 month old.

My daughter was stillborn on December 3rd, 2008 at only 20 weeks through the pregnancy. I started my 1st cycle on January 9th, 2009. I am now 20 weeks pregnant. I didn't have another cycle.

I was actually told by my doctor that you are more fertile after a loss. Not sure what the reasons are. I never thought that would be true for me as it took us two years to get pregnant that time. So, needless to say I was shocked it only took one cycle and we weren't even "trying". The doctor told me to wait 2-3 months to try again because it takes awhile for your body to heal after a loss. But so far things are going fine with this pregnancy. I lost the last one because of complications that started at week 13 and that hasn't happened this time so far. I'm keep my fingers crossed!

As for how long it's taking you to get pregnant, just don't give up. It took us about 9 months to get pregnant with our 1st. I think about 8 months with the 2nd but needed to use fertility meds b/c of problems ovulating. And 2 years with our 3rd and a year and a half of that with failed fertility help. The good news is you know you can get pregnant. Just remember it will happen when and you will be so blessed with another child.

You may also find some support for you loss on this forum. I go there often and talk with other moms about my loss. I find it very helpful. Here's the forum name: Motherhood after the death of a child: pregnancy, infant

Sorry to hear about your miscarriage it's a hard thing to go through! I've also lost two babies. In October of 2007 I went through my first miscarriage and then got pregnant again 8 months later in July and delivered a healthy girl in April. We then got pregnant again in October and I lost that baby in December 2008. I'm wondering the same thing .. since I've had it happen twice about how long it'll take and if it will be healthy. Were still trying though!!

Miscarriages suck. In 2004 I made it to about 8 weeks when I got the news. I had the DNC July 12 or 13th. Had my next period August 17th. It didnt come in September then I started showing preggo symptoms and sure enough I was. So mine happened super fast.

I had a miscarriage on Jan. 1st 1994 and got pregnant in April...January 26th 1995 delivered our first daughter Alyssa. We were devastated...what a way to begin the new year! Then the following January one of the best blessings of our life arrived and that is just how it was meant to be.

It took me about 10 months to get pregnant again after my miscarriage. It all depends on the woman's body; I've had friends who got pregnant a month or two after.

My Dr. told me to take prenatal pills for 3 months before trying to get pregnant again.

I am so sorry for your loss-it is a tough thing to go through, and at least for me, after my loss, I felt so much more pressure to focus on conceiving again.
I had an early miscarriage at 7 1/2 weeks in Nov 2007, and was pregnant again in March of '08 with a healthy pregnancy. I have some friends whom like me, were pregnant within 6 months of their loss, and others who have taken 9-12 months. If it was your first miscarriage, doctors often will not do anything different than they would for anyone else, meaning they don't look into testing or fertility treatments until one year of trying to conceive. Still, if you are concerned that it is taking too long (I am sure 7 cycles feels like an eternity, but it is well within the normal range), it can't hurt to mention it to you ob.

Ive had many miscarriages...and im sorry you have suffered one...i believe every case is different..since this is your 7th cycle i would go back to your doctor and ask for a ultrasound just to rule out anything obvisious...maybe a blockage or cysts...and order a full blood work...again to see if you are ovulating. Hormones are hard to deal with when you havent experienced a miscarriage but most doctors would recommend a good check up after 12 months....For me i never needed help until i hit my early thirties and lost 3 babies before my 4th child finally came into the world and i needed fertility to get her.....but im happy to say i am epecting again (2weeks) all natural this time around...i wish you the best and there are so many forums on the net...like bubhub.com and they have threads there for help and advice.....i hope this helps

I had a miscarrage at 10 weeks and was pregnant again 2 months later. Then I miscarried again at 8 weeks. The doc said one probably didn't have to do with the other. I waited awhile for emotional reasons before trying again (5 years actually) and now I have two kids 21 months apart, after easy pregnancies. In the end it seems to be different for everyone and there seems to ba an exception to every rule.

I've had several miscarraiges, I'm so sorry for you. After my most recent one, it was 10 months until I got pregnant again. Some say it's easy right after, but really it is just like trying for a pregnancy ANY time. Good luck to you.

I miscarried mid to late December but did not know it until my next doctor's appointment in January. I had a D&C mid-January and got pregnant with my 6 month old son March 22.
