My daughter likes to sit with us when the family eat their dinner so she gets a small amount of what we are eatting. Usually she just investigates it and pushes it around her plate. If she has eatten badly and I want her to have something to eat before bed then she gets either malt loaf or toast. I found giving her fruit at bedtime gave her a tummy ache. If we are eatting away from home my daughter has breadsticks and raisins or dried fruit sticks.

Our little guy, 16mths, is usally in bed 20-30mins after dinner, hehehe so no need for a snack. But on the odd occassion I'll give him some fresh fruit chopped up that I have in the fridge pre-cut (usual afternoon tea snack).
