Alcohol at kids parties

As my daughters birthday is coming up, it got me thinking about having alcohol avaliable for adults at a kids party if you are having it at home.

Is it appropriate to have a small amount beer and wine avaliable in your own home??

Should it be strictly soft drinks only??

I will be providing, juice for the kids, soft drink like coke and lemonade for for the adults, and tea and coffee if anyone wants it.
I am doing a small selection of homemade party food for nibbles followed by a bbq lunch with salads and birthday cake.

Last year her party was at the park so alcohol wasn't something I thought about.

What are your thoughts.

It's a non issue for me. Everyone drinks here on their kid's birthday and there is never a problem with people being ill behaved.

I believe it is up to you. If you enjoy time with the other adults and have seen how they handle their Alcohol. If you have somebody that has a tendency to over do it then I wouldn't because it is your daughter's birthday. A drunk can riun any party.

I don't have alcohol at any party cuz I don't drink. I have been to birthday parties where there is alcohol and I don't like it, but don't say anything and just leave when I can.

Of course, I don't buy soda for parties either. ;) I'm no fun. lol
