Hey moms - allergic colitis and breastfeeding - what did you eliminate from your diet that successfully stopped streaky blood in baby stool? If you are reading this and you don't know what allergic colitis is, no need to comment.

wow! so great to read someone else had this problem. First of all we contnued to breast feed and I went on (and am still on a crazy diet. I elminated anything tha had gluten, wheat, Peanuts (treenuts), soy, casien (this was the big hidden one), dairy, and eggs. In doing research on this casien is in almost everything ( i.e.: natural and artificial flavors, caplets for tylenol and vitamins, chicken broth, ground turkey, the list goes on and on). I eat a lot of oatmeal with fruit, ground beef, rice noodles, veggies, fruit, sunbutter, brown rice bread.....all I can say read the ingredients on all labels and if you can't identify it you probably shouldn't eat it. We are at 8 1/2 months, and since I started eating this way we have hd no blood, no screaming or crying with gas and or bowl movements. Our GI doctor had us add "Biogia" to our sons daily diet and it seems to work. I hope this helps! Good luck!
