Hi, my name is Erica and my husband Todd and I have a beautiful 2 month baby boy, Ronan. He was a Thanksgiving baby and after TTC for 2-1/2 years and going through one chemical pregnancy, my husband and I couldn't be more thankful to have welcomed our happy, healthy baby boy into the world. He was born by C-Section because after pushing for 2+ hours, he wouldn't budge past my pelvic bone. He had been measuring 2 weeks early the last month of my pregnancy so we thought he was gonna be HUGE but it turned out I just have an extremely narrow pelvis. So, at 8:36 PM on November 22, 2012 we finally got to meet our 6 lb 14 oz, 19 inch Ronan Edward. =)
We have had some speedbumps along the way, because while Ronan was born completely healty (though 3 weeks early) I, myself had some complications and was in/out of the hospital for the first 3 weeks of his life. We have been home for well over a month now and have finally gotten to enjoy what having a baby is all about and have been able to start developing a routine... finally.
As someone who works with infants in the childcare field, I knew and expected some thing to be tricky, and others to come naturally but I am learning more and more that everything is A LOT different when it's your own child. Here I was thinking I was going to be this laid back Mommy, but instead I feel like a paranoid control-freak. I know a lot of it is due to being a first-time Mom but I do also blame some of this on the fact that I almost didn't make it through my post-partum complications and the thought that I could have only had 2 weeks with what I waited my whole life for... It has made me pretty overprotective of him already. I am finally starting to move past what I went through and easing up a little though. Thank Goodness!!
Anyway, that's the "Story of Us" so far. I look forward to 'meeting' some of the ladies that are a part of CircleofMoms and hopefully I can give as much as I think I might gain from this website.
PS-I apologize ahead of time for any of my lengthy posts. I'm a writer and sometimes I can get carried away. Sorry. Lol.
