Allowing daughter to spend Christmas with her boyfriend!?

My daughter is 18, as is her boyfriend. We lived in New Zealand, where they met at 12 and have been joint at the hip since. But when she was 15 we moved to England and they remained best friends. For the past year they have been trying out a long distance relationship and it's worked so far. We are travelling back to NZ for 3 weeks at Christmas and his family have invited her to spend part of Christmas Day with them (4 hours away from where we are staying) they want to spend Christmas Eve and Christmas morning with us then drive to his home after breakfast.
Is this acceptable?
What should I question her/him about?
Is 18 too young?
This will be her first Christmas away from home.

She's an adult. I agree with Michelle, she really shouldn't need your permission, but out of courtesy is seeking your agreement. At her age I was living on my own at least a 2 hour drive from my family. I don't see why what is being proposed here wouldn't be acceptable.

At 18 she is an adult and can really do what she wants without your permission. You're lucky she has asked you instead of just doing her own thing.
So I say let her go.
