when can i start giving my daughter extra foods? like baby cereal? She will be 3 months on the 23rd and the last 2 days I feel like she is just not satisfied off of just breast milk, it seems like she is still hungry.. I mean she is a big girl maybe she just needs more? She's probably around 15.5-16 pounds already.. and over 25 inches.

If you can, start pumping now after every feeding to increase your supply even more and to start saving up on milk. Often you will not pump nearly as much as she will get from your breast and make sure someone other than you introduces the bottle to her if you haven't already. You want her to be used to it before you go to work.

When they are going through growth spurts, it is very important to do on demand feedings. This will build up your milk supply and ensure she is getting plenty of food. It is not recommended any longer by most pediatricians to put baby cereals in a bottle for them to eat. Also, offering food is usually done between 4-6 months or older. Best to start as late as you can with the real food. Also, you should not be offering real food to babies that are not sitting up on there own. Some other signs they are ready for real food are tongue thrusting, reaching for food and especially being able to support their own heads while sitting up in a highchair.

Don't worry, she is getting plenty of BM. Just might need more during growth spurts. This is not the last time she will do this for sure. I am certain there are days where you feel like she is attached to you 24 hours per day. Totally normal. All of us BFing mommas have been there. Clearly by her weight and size she isn't starving.

Just make sure when you start back to work that you are drinking lots of water. My first few days back I realized my supply was dropping but quickly realized I wasn't drinking any water during the day.

Sounds like she's having a growth spurt. Continue to feed on demand, your body will catch up to the demand after a few days. It's not recommended to start solids till 6 months, and food before one is just for fun.
