I had trouble with that happening to me during my pregancy and am still getting my taste buds back slowly but am almost back to normal 3 months after having my son. Sometimes i had to advoid some food cause even though i couldn't really taste anything, my body would rebel against having it but if you don't feel like eating be careful how often that happens nearly fainted a few times cause i forgot to eat. By the end of the prenancy there was very little i could eat that i could taste or even have but your body takes what it needs and my son was very healthy when he came out and didn't really have any problems during the pregnacy either but see someone if you are worried.

Hi again Eva,

I'm really wanting to say hello to Jessica too. Having your pregnancy mess with your TASTE BUDS is something that I'd not heard of before, but nothing surprises me anymore. One of my friends had some other weird experiences during pregnancy but everything went back to normal after the birth. I'm really amazed and impressed with how good facebook is, that the two of you can compare notes on such an unusual reaction to pregnancy.

I'm in my 50's now; my 4 children are all in their 20's; AND I"M STILL LEARNING!
Being a MUM is the best thing that ever happened to me! I hope you find the same.
Best wishes to both of you.

I had that same thing happen too. Things I normally liked tasted very very bad. Other things were like eating styrofoam. I found it changed throughout my pregnancy, one month I couldn't stand something, the next month it was ok. By the end I was just eating anything that got in my way!

Plus morning sickness doesn't help. Getting covered with stomach acid over and over and over again cannot be good for them. I would have been happy not tasting that at all :p

You poor thing. Pregnancy can do some strange things to us!! I don't know if there is an answer to this problem. I'd ask your doctor. Probably a mothercare nurse or even a healthfood shop might have some suggestions. If all else fails you might have to adapt to what might be an unusual diet until your baby is born. Try to keep your diet balanced for your own benefit. Your body will make sure the baby gets the nutrition it needs so unless your doctors says otherwise I wouldn't worry about that. I hope you can enjoy your pregnancy. Good luck for the future.
