I have a four year old son. While pregnant on him i contracted blood poisoning and kidney failure and had to have blood transfusions and a stent fitted in my kidney i was in icu for 2 and half weeks, both me and my son are fine now but i was told when I had him that it was unlilely i would have any more children but a checkup in four years would indicate weather i could or not, last week i had the check up and have been told I can fall pregnant again without the risk of kidney failure again, I know my partner will be over the moon to ear this has he wants a big family and i know my son wants a brother or sister, but idont want qnother child, not because I wouldn't love a baby because i truly would love to give my partner his big family and my son a play mate, but even though i have been told its highly unlikely I will be so ill during another pregnancy, i cant help but worry i will and I'm scared that if it happened again I won't be so luck to survive and i dont want to leave my son without a mum and i dont want to put my partner through that again. Am i being selfish?

NO! there is nothing wrong with only having one child. Health concerns are a legit reason to not have another and not put your first child at risk of losing their mum.
