Am I easily forgettable?

Hello ladies! I have a gripe about friends. I have two friends in particular who live close enough to visit me, but they never do. I have a 30 month old son and spend most of my time at home. My husband started a job out of town two months ago and comes back every 5 weeks. The loneliness I am starting to feel is undescribable. I used to visit my friends but now am questioning why they never visit me? I dont have any family where i live so i depend on my friends...I feel as though I could easily have a tragic accident in my home and no-one would know, because nobody EVER swings by just to see if all is well or have a cup of coffee. Am I easily forgettable is the question I'm grappling with and am so hurt that the truth may be that I am.

How about a play group? Nothing more interesting than friends with the same interests.

Thank you Wanda. I used to invite them but there would always be a reason why they couldn't come. So I stopped asking because I didn't want my feelings to be hurt. It will take a lot out of me to try one more time, but you are right, I have to try because without family I really feel the void not having friends also.

It's a hard time with a young one around..
I remember always wanting friends just to distract me from always being a mom.
Do you invite them or r u on of those friends who says no one visits but doesn't do their fair share of inviting. Because honestly those r the people I don't bother with..

I think u need to try again. Ask them over. They may think that u have been so preoccupied with your son. Won't know till u try right? Good luck. Things get easier as the kids get more mobile and independent. But it is what u make it.
