Am I overreacting?

Maybe I'm just old fashioned, but I really don't like the way my husband (49) and daughter (20) talk to each other.

Examples:

Husband: Hey, whore!
Daughter: Hey, slut!

Husband: (singing) Kat is a tramp, this I know, for the Bible tells me so

Daughter: Now I know why your ex-wife went crazy

These are just a few examples. Can you see why I am not too thrilled with the way they talk to each other? Although they are just joking, I don't think it's appropriate. They are crossing the line. I cannot imagine talking like that to any of my parents or stepparents or them talk to me like that.

I have confronted them both before and they both told me the same thing: "We're just having fun". But sometimes they go too far and actually hurt each other's feelings (like last night!), and guess who gets stuck in the middle?

I just want them to grow up and stop talking to each other like they're teenage girls. Do you think I am overreacting? Have you ever been in a "situation" like this?

Definitely inappropriate. If I had a husband that talked that way to my daughter... he wouldn't be my husband for very long at all. Granted, they are both adults at this point, but this is YOUR CHILD he is talking to... time for him to grow up or get some counseling if he's going to stay w/ you.

Yes he's her stepfather. I have put my foot down before, but they do not listen. It annoys the heck out of me -__-

I'm glad I'm not alone in feeling that their behavior is inappropriate.

No. It's pretty disturbing actually! I'm guessing he's her stepfather? Their behavior is inappropriate! And you need to put your feet down!
