Am I ready?

I am 19, in school for nursing, and have a good paying full time job. My fiancé is 24 with a steady full time job moving up in his career! We have been together for 3 years, and live on our own with a dog, and don't have to struggle to much with money. Last year I was diagnosed with PCOS,my doctor told me having children before my late 20s would increases chances of having a healthy pregnancy. I absolutely cannot wait to be a mommy, it's all I have ever wanted in life!! I understand that 19 seems very young to have a child, but I feel my fiancé and I are in a good, stable, and loving place. Do you think now and the near future is a good time to start having children?

I'm with the other ladies. Finish school first. It will be so much harder to do that one you have a baby, and that's IF you go back and finish it. I know plenty of people who had children young and never got a chance (either financially or because of time) to go back.

I would agree with finishing school first.....I did 1 semester of school and a newborn and it is HARD. I was glad I just had that semester left. Get married first also. If he is your fiancé then take that next step before adding a child to the mix. It makes it that much more difficult to do it after. There is also a reason why marriage should come before kids. Kids add lots of stress to a relationship. You also have a person that depends solely on the two of you for everything. adjustments have to be made. Putting your relationship first now and doing the things that are important to having a successful marriage down the road means putting in the time now to make a strong base.

I think finishing nursing school is more important. It is only 2 years. Get that done first so you have a career. Nursing school is not easy to get into, and if you waste your chance, you may not get another.
