Hello there, I need some mommy advice. I'm a single mom of 2 boys 4 and 2. I currently work a fulltime job and receive no help from their dad. I need to find a second part time job to help ends meet...i work 8-5 mon-Fri. I dnt have family or friends that can watch the kids...i want to work at night and or on the weekends, I've checked out the after hours daycare center in my area and they ar le unclean and very dark ....there are only a few...maybe im being to picky but i just cant and wont leave my kids just anywhere....any advice?? I'm 25 and still have a lot to learn...most of the time I feel like I'm not doing it right I want to be there for my kids but I also have to make sure bills are paid ...foods on the table...you know the drill...i would love some insight how other moms like me do it. I just have to keep telling myself im not the only one going thru or went thru what im going thru now. Thank you for replying and for your time.

Apply for assistance just while they are young. Fuel and food assistance may help you out for a short time. You are correct you don't want to leave them with just anybody. Good luck

Reply to Kristi,
"Single mom of 2 kids and I don't receive any support from their father. I have been looking into getting a weekend or night job for the holidays to provide Christmas and it's so hard to find people to trust your children with. Do you have any teens around you that are trusting? Or contacted the local church around you to see if they are aware of anyone who would be willing to help? I know there a lot of online jobs for customer service that you can work remotely, they are phone jobs. You usually have to do the training on location but after that you can work at home. That may be an option."

Thanks for replying Kristi,
It is very hard to find people you can trust with your kids. I don't know any teens, actually asking the local church is not a bad idea, I'm in the process of finding a new church home so I have been going to different churches for the past couple of weeks.,..it wouldn't hurt to ask them for help. I've been actively looking for online work including phone jobs. All your ideas are great and I appreciate you taking the time out and providing advice. I wish you good luck with finding a job for the holidays. Stay Blessed:)

Jodi,
That actually sounds like a great plan....owning your own business online can be proved difficult but very rewarding. I wish you all the luck that your business continues to grow....To be honest, I have sat down and wrote up many ideas on how to drum up some extra money with out taking away a lot more time from the kiddos. Owning a business online was one of them. Im more of an artist and love writing poetry, I was thinking of a card business of sorts....it is hard to find investors or start up money ....but im going to keep trying different things out and stick to what works best for my kids and myself.
Thanks again for replying

I am 25 and have two jobs... I work mon- Friday and my 5 year old goes to school and I have a part time and work some weekends, so my coworker, that is also my close friend, has a 14 year old girl that is very responsible. I pick her up from her moms and bring her to my house. Teenagers are a lot cheaper than adults! I pay 50 a weekend for her. Good luck and keep your head up!

Time with ur children is more important than anything! I followed the Dave Ramsey plan & really got my priorities changed around...The good Lord worked miracles with my minimum wage income less than 40 hrs!! I also couponed. Couponmom.com helped me out with that. Look at what u have around you...sell the things you don't HAVE TO HAVE! Use coupons on the things u must buy. Ur children r still young...make a few sacrifices with material things now before they really understand it! I'm 21...my daughter is 4. I slept on the floor a year ago. We don't have tv & we just got internet last week...I gave up a ton & I have a ton more to show for it!!! Don't get a 2nd job yet...ur time is way more important!

I am in the same boat as you. Single mom of 2 kids and I don't receive any support from their father. I actually started my own online business. Basically, I just used something I was interested in, registered a business name, started calling wholesalers and bought a little stock. Started small, selling a bit on ebay, and then it became quite large. It really is achievable if you do your research. But it is one of those things where you do have to have some upfront money because you have to have something to sell. But I know lots of people who go around to the garage sales (yard sales) and the like and pick up things for next to nothing and then are able to sell it on various trading or auctions sites. For some things it works.

I'm not any more, but my husband also has his kids to support, so I do need to support my son. Plus we have one of our own now.

I wish you luck working something out. I imagine you have all the government assistance you can get at this point.

Yeah, I understand that one. Are you in Australia? Because that's the minimum amount I get. It sucks, I know. And I have a teenager to feed.....

Tiffani, are you getting child support from the father? I am only asking because if you are not and have not filed for it, you should try this avenue first.
