Hi Dana,

Party went well. A lot of work for a few short hours but perfect! I don't think there was a single baby there that didn't have a melt down. A lot of food left to. We'll be eating it for a week. Zackary got a lot of size 2 clothes, which will be great for next summer; much to big for this summer. Not a lot of toys which is great because he really doesn't need any right now anyways. Everything was yellow and blue, with some white thrown in, it was soooo adorable! I only shed one tear, so I am pretty proud of myself, lol.

Downtown Vancouver. My hometown is Mount Currie (about 30 min north of Whistler). But living in Vancouver

Just wait til Zachary starts singing it! Roxanne can kinda sorta almost sing it....LOL! I can understand her but I don't know about just any ol' naked ear listening in?! I should tape her and post a video.....haha! She also LOVES to sing and mimick, " Head and shoulders, knees and toes "....she especially likes doing the knees and toes, knees and toes!

I'm sooo excited for you......the next year is gonna be a blast! Lemme know how the party went?

It really is bitter sweet. I'm so proud of him and us for making it his first year but my baby isn't a baby anymore, lol. Thank you Dana. I've been singing that song for months now

[deleted account]

I've never been stung either(knock on wood). So I'm not sure where my fear originated.

I'm okay with snakes actually. Spiders are gross though! I wouldn't carry my son outside last summer because I was afraid I'd hurt him if a bee came near me. I was going to get hypnotized so I could enjoy this summer a little bit more but that is extremely expensive! Oh well, I'll have to learn. It's a constent struggle with my husband to. He doesn't understand my irrational fear.

[deleted account]

LOL! Ur hilarious! I HATE HATE HATE snakes......I can't even watch them on TV! I start hyperventilating and I've even puked before.....LMAO! How embarrassing!?

Hmmm... Dana, I may have to make a short family vacation to the Okanagan this year instead of going to Whistler again. We will see. Did I mention I have a terrible phobia of bees? I'm the one that'll jump up screaming and run inside if a bee is within 10feet of me. I think any heat is bad heat for me as they bring bees out.

[deleted account]

And just for the record Katarina.......the Okanagan might be warmer but it's a different kind of warm then the coast! It's soooo muggy down here but the heat is nice and dry up there.......I was preggers right thru the summer '08 and the heat totally didn't bother me! Down here.....different story!

[deleted account]

I totally agree Jenny! My in-laws are gonna be moving to retire on the lake in Summerland! I can't wait to move back to the Okanagan one day.......we loved it in Peachland! Westbank and Kelowna were super close but we had the nice lake front in quiet Peachland!

[deleted account]

Living in Prince George, but have also lived many places in BC including Pr Rupert and Surrey. Love the size of PG, lower mainland was just too busy and too expensive for me.

The Okanagan is beautiful but it's much to warm for me! Harrison Hot Springs is the warmest I'll go!

Hello All! Born & raised in Vancouver, lived in Victoria for a while, and I've been back in Vancouver for 12 years. I love raising my daughter here, it is so convenient and there are so many great mom's groups and kid's activities around.

I am NOT impressed with canada post! Today I got 4 returned invitation for my Son's birthday party. Which is TOMORROW! No reason for it and the addresses are correct. I had to call all 4 of them and personally invite them the day before.

Fraser Heights is really nice BUT can be such a pain.......really nice since they did all that work though! I have a house cleaning company and used to clean for A LOT of folks in Fraser Heights!

My aunt and uncle, cousins etc. live in North Delta.......used to clean a lot of homes in Ladner as well! I've actually been all over.....LOL!

I LOVE Abbotsford but I grew up here! It's beautiful but frustrating at times because it's grown SO much over the last 10 years!

Coming from Maple Ridge, it really is to busy. I don't drive, so being close to the Skytrain is nice but there are some gross areas of Surrey(Whalley, for example). My area is nice and we're on a green back. What brought me to Surrey is my inlaws. We were renting from them when they bought out here and haven't left since. Rent is Cheap. We're currently living in a basement suite, 975 sqft for $700/month all inclusive. Really nice suite and our landlords are great but buying would be wonderful to. I think I still having negative feelings towards Surrey simple because of all the crime that his broadcasted, even thought it really is everywhere. It is nice being only a 20 minute walk from Walmart though!

[deleted account]

LOL! Me too! I can't stand hot hot summers and I definitely don't enjoy the cold cold, although I LOVE the snow! My sister-in-law lives in Vegas.....ugh! WAY TOO HOT FOR ME! Yuck!

So you said you (unfortunately) live in Surrey? What took you there? There's some pretty nice subdivisions in Bear Creek!? I lived and worked in Surrey for years and LOVED it but only because it's pretty central......I like having everything near by but it's got to be too busy for me!

I actually don't ski or snowboard, I'm a little, okay more then a little, accident prone. Yesterday sure felt like winter! We went to Whistler the next week of March and it snowed the morning we left, scary driving back though. We always use Alurra Direct to get our Condos while we stay. Works great and it's def. a lot cheaper then staying in a hotel, and having your own kitchen is a bonus. I've been to the Okanagan a handful of times but none in my recent memory. I'm def. a vancouverite I hate the snow and the heat. I'm perfectly happy with an overcast or rain!

[deleted account]

Right on! Do you ski? Snowboard? My parents have a place at Sun Peaks so we're always up in the okanagan in the winter months! I guess it's not winter anymore although it still kinda feels like it some days?!! LOL!

We went Peak 2 Peak. It was a little Foggy but beautiful up on both Whistler Mountain and Blackcomb Mountain.

Next Ski season we're going to go back and go Dogsledding. We're also going to go this Summer and take his parents who also have never been. His Mom had never been to Granville Island or Lonsdale Key either, just shocking if you ask me! We took them to Fort Langley for the first time as well.

[deleted account]

Whistler's AWESOME! I was up there at the end of last summer........a group of us went ziplining with ZipTREK! Soooo much fun!

We just recently came back from a 4day vacation to Whistler. I used to go every year as a child and took my hubby there(He has never been). Beautiful little town! Also drove the 20minutes to Pemberton, very SMALL sleepy town. All the Olympic tents were being taken down.
