We did potty training 8 weeks ago and he is absolutely fine with doing a wee in the potty, but keeps doing a poo in his pants. I have tried bribing him, reward chart, but nothing seems to work. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

They often revert. It is totally normal. They are in control of this, and you cannot control him over pooping his pants, you just can't. My son went through the same thing. He was about 3 1/2 fully trained for I want to say 4 months. He started pooping his pants again for a few months but got over it. Just stick a diaper on him for pooping. Your son does not sound like he ever pooped in the potty in the first place. It always takes longer for poop training. Just back off of him for a while, and keep giving him positive reinforcement for the peeing in the potty.

I agree w/ 'Little Miss'... except that my kids did poop train first. ;) They had a little friend that was pee trained at 2, but wouldn't poop in the potty til he was 4 though. Let him poop in a diaper or pull up if that's where he's comfortable and it'll happen when he's ready. If you push it he could end up w/ poop issues for years (as happened to some friends of mine w/ them and their little girl).

Sometime children get scared about the poop coming out into the toilet. Discipline would not be the way to go; because he will just hold it in. You might watch him after he eats and if you notice him grunting then you could take him to the potty. Talk to him about how his poo needs to go into the potty and that you will take him if he lets you know.

Don't be too worried, even though it is a pain, he will eventually figure it out. I know its hard; but patience is the key.

Don't discipline him for pooping in his pants, he will just resist more.

You could try to put him on the potty 5-10 before he has to go or let him run around without underwear on...its hard to not notice poop falling at your feet. I have my daughter help me clean up her poop when she poops in her pants or on the floor. She gets the idea.
