give urself time to just do you and the baby in the beginning. then join some mom groups, meetup is great for that if you dont like the idea of frg or if u find urself not near a base. slowly integrate urself into weekly activities, but dont overload urself. get a routine, and dont forget about you! do something on a regular basis, just for YOU. whether its working out, a new hobby, etc. its very important for your own well being. ask for help. good luck and u can do this momma! i was in ur shoes last august, but it was my first deployment and my daughter was 8 months when he left.

Hey there I know the stress of a deployment while being pregnant/having a child because I went through the same thing. A good thing to do would be to get involved with the FRG (family readiness group) out there in Ft. Lewis and develop a social support group of sorts and get involved with a play group for your daughter. Her social needs are just as important and you'll really appreciate the bonds you make with the other mothers that are going through the same thing as you. Good Luck!

Hi Stephanie. My name is Sheila and I am a PROUD ARMY MOM! The first thing I want you to know is that you are not alone. I know exactly what you are going through because my son Matt, who has been deployed to Afghanistan since January, left a beautiful wife behind that misses him terribly. They were just married last July, so this whole deployment thing is a rude awakening for her. The good news is that when she has a bad day, I pick her up and when I have a bad day, she is there for me. Matt was in the Army for 2 years before they even met, so as a mother, I was already living in my own hell not knowing how he was or what I could do for him or even when I would get to see him again. Anyway, this is a great site for all of us to stick together, however, you need to go to "communities" and connect with us on "Moms of Children in the Military". I think we are only at 8 members now, but we would love to have you there as well. I have no little children so I don't really communicate on the main "Circle of Moms" community. Please write me anytime you have a question or are feeling lonely. I look forward to hearing from you again and hope that we can all be there for our brave men and women. Sheila

Hi Stephanie, my name is Dezerae and my husband is in the Navy, we are in Virginia Beach. I also have a daughter that is going to be 2 in June. The best advice I can give you for while your husband is away is to talk to friends and family, keep your self busy by doing stuff with your daughter, and e-mail your husband, thats what I would do when my husband was away. It makes the time go by and you dont feel alone as much. I hope this has helped some.
