I recently lost my baby girl due preterm birth.

I lost my amniotic fluid 5 days prior to her birth. I woke up with what seemed like gas pains.. but i timed them since i was warned to take precautions to cramping (after i was discharged from the hospital after losing my water). I got up to use the restroom and noticed my discharge changed, as well. This again was another sign to be readmitted. I rushed to the hospital only to find out i was fully dialated and they could feel the baby through my cervix. I was rushed into a room where I had to face the hard reality all within a hour of being awake that i had no choice but to deliver my baby preterm. I was 19 wks 6 days and delivered her 4 hours after arriving at the hospital. I gave birth completely natural even though I was offered medication. She died during birth. After giving birth to my perfect angel, my placenta would not detach naturally so I had a d&c performed. I experienced minor bleeding after and hardly any cramps. My preterm birth was caused from a bacterial infection I was fighting most of my pregnancy. As well as a uti I got from the BV.

Since my fiance and I knew she was just to tiny to make it and we faced the cruel reality that we were gonna lose our sweet baby girl. We both agreed we wanted to try again. I know the doctors recommend 3 months before trying. We would like to try asap. Since my pregnancy was healthy besides the infection I am in hopes that this lessens my chances of having this happen again. I plan on takin extra precautions and supplements that help prevent bacterial infections as well as continuing my prenatal and multivitamin.

Any other mothers go through something similar and conceive successfully with a healthy pregnancy?

It is best to follow the doctor's recommendations for a safe and healthy future pregnancy. Your uterus needs time to heal from the D&C. If you get pregnant right away and it has not had the time to heal it can cause you to miscarry or have a premature birth again due to your uterus not having healed, I understand your great loss but if you do not want to repeat it then please follow your doctor's recommendation.

GOD bless you and I pray that you are healing and are healed and obtain the precious baby that you desire in life if that is God's will for you. Otherwise being healthy for yourself is key. Be happy healthy and believe.

I definitely plan on waitin til i am healed. I could not go through another lose. Its killin me so much now. I am workin on doing everything i can to become healthy and continuing my prenatal and even started a probiotic to help with the infections. I've done some researching and found that it helps with preventing BV AND UTI which I've always been susceptible to gettin. I'm hoping this and stayin under the care of my doctor and waitin atleast 2 months before we even try will help me have a healthy full term pregnancy.

Well of the women I know of that had D&Cs that followed the doctors care when the doctor deemed that the uterus walls were healed no matter what the time line was they were able to get pregnant rather quickly. It seems that for some reason the women who had D&Cs end up getting pregnant rather easily and that is one reason doctors tell them not to until their uterus wall is healed. If your doctor after your next exam says you can proceed then you can. But there are a few women I know who did not heed what their doctor said and their uterus ended up miscarrying the pregnancies. They then had another D&C. All in all I say it is best to wait until your doctor gives you the all clear so that you do not face the heartbreak my friends who did not follow there's went through. The second time around they listened to their doctors and soon after the all clear to try they were pregnant rather quickly.

I know all this I just want to know of the success rate of women women who've waited on one cycle versus ones who waited 3-6 months. I go to the dr in a week to get checked and shes gonna do an ultra sound n of my uterus to tell me how I am healing so she can give me a more accurate time line to follow and I plan to do so. I just wanna know what other mothers who've experienced what I've been through have done.
