Any potty training advice?

I'm potty traing my son. He has had the peepee part down for a little while now. When he is at home he doesn't have any peepee accidents in his undies. Because he won't go poopy in the potty all the time, he has to wear the plastic underwear over his regular ones while he's at daycare. Every since he started wearing those, he is having peepee accidents at daycare almost everyday. He doesn't wear the plastic ones at home, and rarely has peepee accidents. I think he is associating the plastic underwear with pullups. I don't want to put him back in pullups. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

They do sit him on the potty every hour. For a long time he didn't wear the cover at daycare but then they told me that because he keeps having poopy accidents, I had to put that on him or put him back in pull ups.

I would talk to the carers about how he might be having accidents more because of the covering. You could just explain the situation and ask if you could take it off since it's just causing more accidents and probably preventing him from progressing into pooing on the potty.

After that I would just keep encouraging him to go poo and pee on the potty and just matter of factly handle any accidents. Could the daycare providers sit him on the potty every hour or something?
