my older brother & i are 2 yrs and 10 months apart & my younger brother and i are 1 yr and 5 months apart so i think my parents had us pretty close together. i know it is ultimately my choice, but just needed some extra encouragement :) great advice everyone thank you! my husband & i will continue to pray about our decision to add to the family

Like the others say, it is really up to you and what YOU want. Personally, I have a four year old and a 17 month old. It worked well for me because my son was at the age where he really wanted to help. I encouraged him to help me with his sister. I let him be involved in everything, and he loves his sister dearly. I do know other mothers though who had issues with their oldest one being jealous and not liking baby. There will be ups and downs with any decision that you make. I wanted mine to be fairly close in age because my brother and I were seven years apart. I felt like that was too far. Just follow your heart girl. You'll be ok!

It really is up to you. Depends on if you want the first out of diapers, independent for the most part, or in school full time. No one can make that decision, but you.
There are a lot of parents who like to get all the baby stuff out of the way so they have their kids 1-2 years apart. My first two are 21 months apart, but my second and soon to be third will be 3 years and 10 months apart.

I say if you feel ready go for it....
I have a soon to be 10 year old, a 5 year old and am currently 29wks with the 3rd.....When laying in bed a few nights back i realised that when this bub is 10 my oldest will be 20...OMG was that a scary thought....
My hubby and i had only planned on having two kids to begin with and didn't want two in nappies hence the 4 year age gap between the two...After the second was born we were done but after a few years and feelings changing number 3 is on the way and couldn't be happier...Pretty sure we'll be done this time..haha
Totally up to you and your preferences... and how long it takes to conceive. I know people who only have a year difference and others w/ 6+ year difference. There are good and 'bad' things about any age difference.
If I only had one child... I wanted a 3ish year age difference between #1 and #2. There's only a 5 minute age difference between #1 and #2 though, so I 'wanted' a 4.5-5.5 year difference between #2 and #3. God had other plans and there is a 6.25 year difference between my girls and my son.
