Hi Jen. Good to see you back. This is completely normal for a school nursery. His class peers will be all those whose birthday is from September 1st. Legally he will be entitled to 15 hours a week free of charge from January, but you will probably have to find a pre-school or private nursery, rather than one that is attached to a school. Hope this helps.

Yup they all have cut off dates. I know many children who have missed those dates, My son just made the cutoff by two weeks and I really wish he hadn't.

Hi thankyou glad to be back. The nursery he is going to is just a public state nursery its not attached to a school or anything they said when he turns 5 i will get a letter from the goverment asking which infant school i want him to go to. So i shouldnt worry then? im not trying to get rid of him but i hate to think his going to miss out. I am tho going to take him to toddler group thats two doors away which does a group 3 times a week for 3 hours and they have planned activties.
