You can touch Diatomaceous Earth....all it is is ground up sedimentary rock. I put it out with my hands so please tell me how it is dangerous to touch.

Diotamacious Earth Is a natural thing, but you cannot get the powder on you, it can cause an allergic reaction. This stuff has to be carefully used. This has to be read up on. My mother had gotton this stuff and that is what it said on the directions that you cannot breathe it or get the powder on you. That's all I remember about it.

I always used Amdro. It's these little poisoned food pellets that you sprinkle all over and around the mound. The ants carry it back inside and it kills them all. You have to keep at it though because the goal is to get to the queen. Once she's dead, you've pretty much got them beat. Growing up in Florida, I've had to do this at several places I've lived and it's worked every time.

Well seeing as bleach is toxic to children have you tried Diotamacious Earth? It is harmless to kids and animals but kills bugs.
