Lol anyways I noticed last week that she is having body Oder under the arms and I know that her day is coming to start her period soon I was wondering if there's any moms out there that can tell how they handle it my daughter is non- verbal also. Yes she can talk, sorry I missed that part of your post. Do you use sign language? If not, would showing her without words work? The school that she goes to does not change them for her. However, a special needs school I would think would help her.. Wouldn't they? I am sorry for your hardship, it definitely does not sound easy at all...

Can your daughter talk? You see my Jackie understands things but she is non verbal so it's kinda hard to explain to her how to put a pad on and how to take it off and discard it by rolling it up and so forth. Maybe I will just keep her home while she's on her period. Now does your daughters school change her pads or does she do it all by herself?

Thanks for replying the first time.

Actually my daughter was 8 years old too when she started having body odor but she was 12.5 before she started her period. She has severe combined ADHD. I was worried how it would go over so I walked her through everything once she turned 11. I even showed her how to attach a pad and how to wrap it up in toilet paper to disgard it in the garbage. She has done very well, I am very impressed! ;) I did have to start getting her to use deodorant at age 8 and she had to have daily showers/baths, she is just a smelly one if she doesn't! LOL
