Yes I was diagnosed in 2008 after I had my first child, my condition got worse after I had another child in 2010. Now I am still not ok. Usually have difficulty in breathing, tiredness and tightening/heavy in my chest. I v reduced my fluid intake yet not feeling well cos these symptoms usually occur daily.

Does any one know how to cope with these symptoms

Thanks. I was diagnosed 5 years ago. My heart function is completely normal now and I had another child since... even I was told never to have another.

Ive just never met anyone else with the same condition.

No, I have not had this condition. But here's a website that provides some information for you regarding your condition. https://www.google.com/health/ref/Peripartum+cardiomyopathy

No, amy I wasn't. But don't panic. My brother was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy several years ago, and it is suspected it was triggered by a viral infection. He went onto medication for a few years, and his heart is absolutely normal now, and he is off any medication. I haven't heard of it being postpartum, but I do believe there are many things that can trigger the problem.

Just be aware that the medication you take CAN make you sterile, so check with your doctor about this. You may like to consider your options before you start on medication. My brother was told that he may never be able to have children after taking the medication. He was blessed - he and his wife had a baby after he came off the medication. So do ask the questions about this.

And take care of yourself. Try not to put yourself in stressful situations, and allow yourself to rest when you feel the need to. I feel for you - but it can sort itself out.
