My problems started about 31 weeks 3 days. I was admitted to the hospital with kidney stones for the weekend and had a stent put in at 31 weeks 5 days. They kinda noticed that my BP was elevated but chalked it up to me being in pain. At 34 weeks, my doctor put me on restricted activity and took me off my feet. At 35 weeks, I was put on mandatory strict bedrest as my BP was super elevated. She had me come back for NST and BP check 3 days later. DD didn't respond the way they wanted her to on the NST so we had to do a bio-physical. My doctor decided then that our goal was to make it to 37 weeks. At 35 weeks 6 days, 36 weeks 1 day, and 36 weeks 3 days, we went to the hospital-sent twice by doctors and once on our own. At the 36 week 3 day time, we were admitted and I was put on hospital bedrest. My doctor scheduled an inducment for 37 weeks-Dec. 30, 2008. After 5 hours of labor we ended up in the OR for a c-section because my BP bottomed out and DD heartrate kept dropping and was slow coming back up after contractions.

She was 4 lbs 14 oz and 17 inches at birth. At her 2 month appointment, she was 8 lbs 0.7 oz and 20 inches. We got really lucky in that she was never on oxygen, never in the NICU, and now the only complication we have is GERD, which she is taking Zantac for.

My 1st was 37.3wks and my waters broke, guess that happens when your moving house and scrubing bathrooms, standing on chairs and lifting heavy boxes not to mention falling down stairs, because she was breech we had a c-section.

My 2nd was 41.5wks and had no intention of coming out until I started to be induced 15.5hrs later out she shot leaving me with over 90 stitches and a hematoma keeping the vagina open, ouch.

My 3rd was 29.3wks I had fevers and was delerious went to hospital blood pressure dropped to 40 over something had a centeral line and aterial line and 3 canulers put in then the contractions started and I was flowen from Campbelltown(sydney) to Liverpool(Sydney), next thing I'm being asked is where do I want to be cut for the c-section, pump 2 bags of blood through her in the next 5mins and we have to cut your PJ's off. It works out I had Chrones Disease and it had caused me to go septicemic and anemic and I flatlined twice. My husband came home from a christening cut short in New Zealand with our 4yr old to find this. My other daughter was at nannies thank god.

My 4th son was born at 38.2wks by c-section as at 35wks they found he had alot of heart defects.Single ventrical, 2 right pulmanory arteries, dextro-cardia(heart turned around and back to front), hetrotaxi(2 right sides in the body instead of a left and right) and no spleine to name a few, 1st open heart surgery went well then his next came too early at 4 mths the blood clots killed him last sept.

My point is kids catch up in their own time just be patient and take anything the check-ups say with a grain of salt.

My son was born at 37 weeks, 5 lbs 6oz. He's now 6 and super duper. Looks like your daughter put on good weight at her 2 month. For the first several years my son was always a little under weight according to the pediatric charts, however at around 3 he was in the 50th percentile. And now, at 6 he's Intellectually and physically just right, tall, slim, with a good head on his shoulders. Just as I'm sure your daughter will be.

My daughter was born at 37.5 weeks, 5lbs 6oz.  I had severe Preeclampsia and admitted to the hospital and within the hour I had an emergencey c-section.  Crazy!  I was fine, but she had to stay in the hospital for two weeks in an isolate and well I went pretty nuts near the end (post-partum).  But when I got her home, I was back on track and elated!

Other than her size, there are no signs that she was ever a preemie.  She's such a little smarty pants!  My second pregnancy was soo different.  Delivered a 9lbs 12oz baby (they are 22 months apart) and now when we're out in public, people will ask..."are they twins"...b/c my second is catching up fast to my first.

Wow, did she ever gain a lot of weight within such a short amount of time!  You must have been soo happy when they told you that she was 8lbs 7oz!  Way to go!  Keep up the good work!!!!

My first child was born at 35 weeks and was just about 6 lbs (2.72 kg) and 19 inches (49 cm).  She was fit as a fiddle and went home after four days.

Baby number 3 was born at 37 weeks and was just over 7 lbs (3.295 kg) and 19 inches (50 cm).  He was also very healthy and went home after two days.  My c-section had to be done early as I has a hernia from my previous c-section (all the muscles gave way under the old scar) and the dr was worried about me going into labour and the uterus tearing before the baby could be born.

With all three my children I had ruptured membranes at 33 weeks and battled to keep them much longer.  Only baby number two made it to 38 weeks, 19 hours labour and a c-section at 02:45 am, but we nearly lost him to a GBS infection and pneomonia (11 days in NICU).  He was over 8 lbs (3.93 kg) and 21 inches (54 cm).

Good luck with your little one and enjoy the ride!!!

All 3 of my children wanted to be born at 34 weeks and I managed to have labour stopped and ended up having them at 36 weeks. My first was 5p 8 ounces and was born not alive and it took them 8 mins to reviver her, she must of been getting oxygen because she is not brain damaged or anything and is a very bright, happy 9 year old now, my second I had contractions two mins apart from 34 weeks till she was born at 37 weeks. My labour started after having my waters broken, at 2 mins apart and 2 hrs and 45 mins later she was born a healthy and happy 6p3 ou. My third baby was born at 36 weeks after the same as befor with other children and at 36 weeks and after a 40 min labour he was born 5p 4ounces. He was very healthy and didn't need oxygen or anything. We only stayed in hospital for 3 days all up and I could take him home. He is still smaller than others his age but very happy and healthy little boy. I have endometriosis of the uterus which may explain the early births but after having 13 miscarriages all up, having my 3 small but healthy babies was a dream come true. My little man is now 1 and was crawling at 5 months, walking at 9 months and now runs everywhere to keep up with his big sisters.

My son was born at 37 weeks. I had 2 sons die in my ninth month so they kept a close eye on him. I went every other day from 28 week on just to make sure he was ok. We went one day (Good Friday) and he was in distress they decided delivery was the safest way to go. I had an emergency C-section within a half hour. He was 4 lbs. 6 oz. and 13 inches . We were lucky he spent 3 days in the NICU but did not need a ventalator. He came home when he was only 8 days old on a walabee (helps his kidneys function till they can function on their own) and a heart monitor because he would stop breathing when he slept. They were stressful difficult times. He was very small and we were afraid to leave him with anyone in case he stopped breathing He has three sisters(10,6, and 3) who were very understanding but they did feel left out for awhile even though we tried to include them as much as possible. He too had Gerd and took medication. He was small for along time but he is now almost 13 years old and is finally growing.Except for the fact he has asthma he is perfectly healthy and does everything other 13 yr olds do including skateboarding and basketball. In facat his team just won the championship. After the preganancy you had caring for a premie will be a piece of cake. Things are looking great she's already over 8 lbs. She'll be walking before you know it. Good Luck
